Spring Fever

Spring always seems the shortest season and the most enjoyable (unless you have allergies). I created this painting in honor of spring and my desperation to hold onto to it for as long as I can or am allowed to. This is my first painting in a very ,very, long time and I feel a bit rusty - I know it will only get better from here. Also, this is the smallest canvas I’ve ever painted on, 12×16, it was a challenge for me to constrain the composition to that size and I think the poor girls legs suffered for it. I may go back in and remove the black lines, might look too “coloring book”. What do you think?

And what the hell, might I ask, is wrong with coloring books? Not one thing says I. If that’s rusty then don’t work on it too much. You’ll make it too hard for the rest of us. It’s great to see you’re still being an artist in all ways. Talk to you soon.
